Nelson was found on the outskirts of town, scared and alone. He was so nervous that Elisa had to catch him with a trap - but this boy needed help. He was absolutely covered in ticks and when taken to the vets, tested positive for babesiosis. He is now in optimum health!

In September 2023 Nelson travelled over to the UK to continue his journey in finding his forever home. We can’t believe the progress this boy has made with all the volunteers. He’s gone from hiding away in the back of his kennel to bouncing around with excitement on their arrival. Through consistent training, we are chipping away at Nelson’s nervousness in the hopes of one day giving him the home he deserves!

Nelson has made incredible progress and we are now looking for his perfect home where he can continue to thrive! Nelson is a gentle soul and extremely food motivated so this will be essential in helping him transition to living in a home. He will need a patient home who has the time and skill set to slowly introduce Nelson to different experiences and situations.

Nelson has gone from NEVER experiencing what it’s like to be on a lead, to enjoying his very first walks with our volunteers. Although he has now been on some walks, a secure garden is essential for Nelson to explore in those early months in his new home, safely.

He has not been cat tested.

Due to his nervous nature he will need a rural/semi- rural home without children where he can take things at his own pace.
