Sponsorship Only Dogs

A dog listed as a ‘sponsorship only’ dog is not available for adoption or foster and we are not actively looking for homes for these dogs. It may be that the dog is awaiting medical results, undergoing treatment, rehabilitation, too old or too nervous to travel to a home.

We will always do what is in the best interest of our dogs and provide them with, food, safety, warmth and space to roam. They can choose not to interact with people and can be with other dogs.

And for those not suited to life as a pet? We want to ensure they never know the feeling of an untreated injury or an empty stomach. That they can live the remainder of their lives safe from cruelty and hunger.

Sponsorship for all our dogs is important, but particularly for the dogs that may not be suited to life as a pet.

Unfortunately their differences and pasts are too great to understand love from humans like some of our other dogs that get adopted or fostered.

But we can still make a difference to their lives by providing them the best possible life at the shelter with warmth, food, safety and kind hearts.

If you are currently unable to adopt or foster a dog but want to play a huge role in changing the life of a shelter dog, sponsoring could be the next step to give one of our dogs the best life they can.

Nera's Pups

  • Nera's Pups

After receiving a call from a fellow rescuer about a group of dogs in need - Nera and her pups, Cleo, Boris, Kim, Mandy, Sirius and Hera, were rescued and taken to the shelter. The lady caring for them had fallen ill, her home and land were being repossessed, leaving these lovely dogs at risk of being sent to a public shelter. Thanks to the support of our amazing sponsors, Nera and her family were able to be brought to safety at the shelter.

Unfortunately other than Hera and Nera, most of these pups are too scared to be adopted and at the moment are only for sponsor. All the pups find comfort in the company of each other and are slowly working on trusting humans. It breaks our hearts to see how much they want to trust and we are hoping over time they can gain confidence needed to overcome their fears.

Thanks to the support of our amazing sponsors, Nera and her pups were able to be brought to safety at the shelter.
