Pepper is a confident young dog, who has been labelled by one of our volunteers as a “little firecracker”! He loves humans and (you guessed it) FOOD! He wants attention all the time and is more than happy to go up to people and even more so if you have treats.

Due to his confident nature and under socialisation, he needs a guiding hand around other dogs. He is generally great with dogs once properly introduced after a period of time, he demonstrated some good doggy play when in the play area off the lead at the shelter and this socialisation needs to be be continued in his foster/forever home, as he did show he could get over aroused and humpy at times.

On his walks with volunteers he walked very well, limited pulling and walked nearby when treats were available. Whilst walking he was alert and very aware of his environment, especially when the roaming dogs were around him, Pepper presented some frustration based reactivity which an adopter would need to be prepare to work on with him once home.

Pepper got to go on a car ride with several volunteers, to be taken back to the human accommodation and a few walks around the local town, he even sat outside a coffee shop on one of these trips, and he didn't seem phased one bit! He showed how confident he was in busier areas; taking in the human, traffic and a very noisy tractor!

Pepper is now a young adolescent male and would suit an active home with someone that’s able to continue his socialisation journey with other dogs. If our little firecracker has stolen your heart please complete our adoption form and express your interest in him today!
