COULD YOU BE REED’S MATCH?

Reed’s mum Cary was found at the dump pregnant and taken back to the shelter. She gave birth at the shelter, hiding her babies under the pen.

When Reed and his siblings were moved into a pen, Cary, shy and fearful of humans,  wouldn’t go in with them out of fear initially. Summoning her courage though she managed to break into the play area to get to their pen, coming in running despite her fear and checking on each of her pups individually after only 24 hours apart. Safe at the shelter and with such a good mama looking after them, they have grown into playful, curious pups.

Our little sprout of joy from the Nature pups, is looking for a place to put down his roots. This adorable pup is already blooming with personality and is the perfect blend of curious, cuddly and a champ at napping.

Reed is our biggest and most independent of the Nature pups. At the beginning of the volunteer visit, he was more timid and would be the last to come out or engage with an activity. However, he made the best progress from being quite worried about humans to choosing to approach and then accepting pets and affection without running away. During the week as the volunteers walked past their pen he was always up at the fence seeking a lot more affection.

He enjoyed food, maybe not as much as his siblings, but would approach for it. He got on with his littermates and took in the environment at his own pace, exploring areas on his own.

He took to the harness and lead slowly but treatos striked again! With a good lure the tail started wagging when trying to catch the treat. On his second walk he moved around the area cautiously but without any encouragement needed to explore his surroundings well.

We believe that Reed will shoot up blossoming best in a rural/semi-rural environment with a confident resident doggo, he could live with cats and older children.

Reed has grown so much in the short space of time we have known him, and he has well and truly rooted himself into our hearts.
